Hehehehe.....
Another title yang a bit melampao....
Last week we had an opportunity to go to terrapins' nesting ground in Bukit Paloh...
It was a nenjoyable, challenging, and adventurous journey....
My favourite part was when we're crossing the river....
The boatman didn't want to use the engine....
So....kayuh la sampai ke tebing pasir di tengah-tengah sungai tersebut...
Dlm hati dok menyanyi....
"laju...laju....buaiku laju...."
Eh, salah daaa....
Laju...laju...sampanku laju...." hehehe....
We were not allowed to use any forms of light on the sand bank....
So we have to be very alert...
Luckily I have been trained to walk at nite without any lights....
So there's not much problems for me to do that...
I was so excited because this is the first time I got to see mother terrapins laying eggs...
Before this I used to watch green turtle and hawksbill laying eggs...
There's not much differences between turtle and terrapin...
But there's one thing that differentiate the two chelonians...
When the mother terrapins cover their nest, they will create a sound...
"Tung..!Tung..!"
(I was wondering may be they got their local name from the sound produced...Tung!Tung! and tuntung...sounds similar, rite..??)
That is because they will smash their body to the sand while covering the hole they made....
So the sound that we heard is the sound produced when their body hit the sand....
We waited for 4 hours to see the whole process....
Then, the next morning I woke up with the fever... :(
But, the experience is priceless....

Another great experience to share.. :)
Best x...???
Bukan smua org bleh skodeng tuntung bertelur...
Hehehe....
